HELLOWORLD AUSTRALIAN UNDER-18 AND KEVIN COOMBS CUP DRAW RELEASED

The fixture has been released for the Helloworld Australian Under-18 Championships and Kevin Coombs Cup for wheelchair basketball, being hosted in Townsville, Queensland.

Held from 8-15 April, the Under-18 men’s and women’s competitions will be split into two pools featuring every state and territory aside from the Northern Territory women, while the Kevin Coombs Cup will be contested between New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and two Queensland teams (Maroon and White).

113 games will be played across eight days with finals for the Under-18’s beginning on Thursday and the Kevin Coombs Cup Semi’s on Friday.

The gold medal games for the competitions will then be held on Saturday, April 15 starting at 2.00pm for Kevin Coombs Cup, 5.00pm for the Under-18 women and 7.00pm for the Under-18 men.

QLD North and SA Metro will tip things off on Saturday, April 8 for the Under-18 men with the Under-18 women’s tournament tipping off at the same time when WA Metro meet Tasmania.

Vic Metro, the defending men’s champions, will begin their campaign against NSW Metro that afternoon in an intriguing match-up as those two teams account for eleven of the past twelve titles.

For the Under-18 women, Vic Metro are also the defending champs and are aiming to win a fourth straight Championships for the fourth time in the tournament’s history.

The Kevin Coombs Cup begins on Wednesday, April 12 when QLD White host Victoria with NSW aiming to continue their success from last year and win a third title in the six-year history of the competition.

The championships will be held at Townsville Basketball Stadium and Townsville Stadium which are both located within the Murray Sporting Complex.
