The countdown is almost over for 51 Australian athletes heading to Liberec in the Czech Republic to compete in the 2009 INAS-FID Global Games, a sporting event for athletes with an intellectual disability.
The journey will begin Saturday with athletes departing five capital cities destined for seven days of tough competition with 1,300 athletes from 31 countries.
The spirit of the games will come to life at the Opening Ceremony on Monday 6 July with the Australian ambassadors wearing their green and gold with pride. The Australian athletes will compete in Athletics, Basketball, Cycling, Swimming, Table Tennis and Tennis.
